Plan your trip with fatigue in mind. Time on the water can be more tiring than you expect, so keep your outing to a reasonable length and take breaks when needed.

Happy Birthday USCGAUX!!

Today we celebrate 87 years of the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary ๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿ›Ÿ

Since our original conception as the Coast Guard Reserve in 1939, we have stood the watch. Whether it be supporting our active duty colleagues, providing boater safety education, or keeping our waterways safe, the Auxiliary has been there and will continue to proudly do so for many years to come.

Alcohol is dangerous for passengers too. Intoxication can cause slips, falls overboard, and other dangerous incidents. Always boat sober.

Don't worry, it's wired to the ceiling!

Complacency kills. That is one of the many reasons our pilots and air crew members attend an annual safety workshop. By regurarly refreshing and honing their skills, they maintain peak form for assisting our active duty colleagues.

We're not like Davy Jones, so we do find ourselves on land occasionally ๐Ÿฆ‘

In order for boat crew personnel to maintain their currency, they frequently have to undergo additional training. Seen here, they review navigational charts covering their area of responsibility in order to focus their attention where it is needed most.
