Crystal Beach Betterment Association (CBBA)
October 2013

Your Crystal Beach Betterment Association is currently reorganizing to become more interactive with the Crystal beach Community, to keep you better informed and to encourage greater Community Support. To this end we are launching both a Crystal Beach Community Email site and page to allow for increased communications and awareness. Feel free to contact us on either media platform.

If you are a Crystal Beach resident, send us an Email Msg stating your name, local Crystal Beach Street address (and preferred Postal mailing address, if different) and any comments, we will add you to our Community Mailing List for regular updates and announcements. For the purposes of respecting each others Privacy we would use a “Blind Copy” distribution list method for larger scale announcements/mailings.

On July 21st a waterfront park in Crystal Beach at Maiden Lane was Dedicated in memory of life long Crystal Beach resident Nicholas Murphy Jr with a ceremony attended by family, friends and area residents.
"Nick" as he was known, was a great husband, father, family man and very active member of the community known by all. He dedicated a tremendous amount of time improving the community, parks and waterrfront areas through fund raising and volunteer events and as a long term President of the Crystal Beach Betterment Association. One of his last efforts was to raise attention and funds to clear the overgrown land parcel at Maiden Lane and make it into a beautiful park area with a walking path, park benches and picnic tables.

The CBBA held its monthly Board Meeting on 25 July, all members were present. The exceptionally hot weather this Summer is placing a big demand on our waterfront areas and as a Board we are trying our best to keep the areas clean and safe. Please help in any you can as you use the parks to pickup trash, litter and report any concerns/hazards to a Board Member. Also many are using the waterfront to keep their dogs cool as well. We ask that dogs use the boat launch area for swimming and play. Please follow Town and Park regulations for leash requirements and the safety of other park users especially small children. Also please do not create a health risk by allowing dogs to relieve themselves in the sandy beach and gravel areas where children are playing and walking barefoot.
