A new school year is right around the corner, and our School Resource Officers are getting ready to head back to the halls of schools throughout Ontario County.

Our SROs are an important part of their school communities — working alongside students, staff and families throughout the year while helping maintain a safe and welcoming environment.

As backpacks get packed, buses get rolling and classrooms fill up again, we're looking forward to another great school year!

To all of our students, teachers, staff and families — enjoy the final days of summer, have a safe Labor Day weekend, and we'll see you in the halls! 📚🍎

🚨 𝗢𝗖𝗦𝗢 𝗜𝗡𝗩𝗘𝗦𝗧𝗜𝗚𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗢𝗩𝗘𝗥𝗡𝗜𝗚𝗛𝗧 𝗕𝗨𝗥𝗚𝗟𝗔𝗥𝗜𝗘𝗦 & 𝗩𝗘𝗛𝗜𝗖𝗟𝗘 𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗙𝗧𝗦 🚨

The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office is investigating multiple burglaries, stolen vehicles and thefts from vehicles that occurred during the early morning hours today in the Ackerman Way area of the Town of Farmington.

In more than one incident, suspect(s) entered 𝗼𝗰𝗰𝘂𝗽𝗶𝗲𝗱 𝗵𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘀 and stole vehicle keys before fleeing with the vehicles.

We are asking residents in the 𝗔𝗰𝗸𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗪𝗮𝘆 / 𝗧𝗼𝘄𝗻𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗥𝗼𝗮𝗱 / 𝗜𝘃𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗗𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲 neighborhood who have security or doorbell cameras to please review footage from 12:00 AM to 6:00 AM today, September 2, for anything that may assist investigators.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Sheriff’s Investigators at (800) 394-4560 or submit a tip through the OntarioSheriffNY mobile app.

As a reminder, please make sure your vehicles, garages and homes are locked, particularly overnight and whenever you are away from your property.

Please share, especially with friends and neighbors in the Farmington area.

𝐑𝐎𝐔𝐍𝐃𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐎𝐔𝐓 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐒𝐔𝐌𝐌𝐄𝐑 ☀️

August brought another busy month across the Ontario County Sheriff's Office.

From more than 15,000 police calls and 1,700 EMS calls to 780 traffic stops, 156 arrests and the daily operations of our Jail, the numbers provide a snapshot of the activity handled across OCSO throughout the month.

On this day, we remember Deputy Jack Fennell, whose End of Watch occurred on August 31, 1951 as he succumbed to gunshot wounds received almost three months earlier. We remain grateful for their dedication, sacrifice, and unwavering service to our community. His memory continues to live on within the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office and beyond.

Sometimes the best part of the job is simply taking a few minutes to stop, talk and make a new friend.

Deputy Cori Gullo spent some time with a couple of our youngest community members — talking bikes, checking out some pretty impressive helmets, and sharing a few smiles along the way.

Sometimes, a few minutes spent saying hello is all it takes to make a connection. 🚲

And we have to admit…that unicorn helmet is pretty tough to beat. 🦄

You know the K9s of the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office for the important work they do alongside their handlers. Today, we're sharing a little bit about what they're like off the clock. 😂

𝗠𝗮𝗹𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗺 has declared war on the car wash. 𝗢𝗯𝗶 has made harassing 𝗘𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗲 at the office a favorite pastime. 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝘁 wants absolutely nothing to do with bath time. 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿 has his own secret treat stash. 𝗦𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘆 has a very specific method for destroying a Kong. And 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲𝗿? Well... she considers obstacles merely suggestions. 😂

And then there are the nicknames. 😂 Of course, no K9 profile would be complete without one very important question:
