Canaseraga Fire Department - Important Update

Earlier today, our tones were activated due to a miscommunication. We want to assure the public that there was no actual emergency. Swain Ski Resort was conducting a search and rescue practice, which included mass casualties training. We appreciate your understanding and apologize for any concern this may have caused. Last night we had our annual member dinner and were able to recognize some big milestones for some of our members.

Steve Kenyon Jr and Rick Scott both received their 55 year pins

Cathy Kenyon and Glenn Odell celebrated 51 years while receiving their pins and plaques for the previous year for 50 years of service

EMS Chief Bill Crubaugh received his 40 year pin and plaque

President Jessica Satterfield received her 5 year pin

Kevin Bonner, Grace Miller and Jaelynn Greenthal all received their 1 year pins.

Scott Odell, Glenn Odell, Darwin Bacon, Bill Crubaugh, and Keven Preston all received a Chiefs Award for extraordinary service and dedication to our community. These 5 men show up at all hours of the day and do it for all our community.

We also recognized other surrounding departments for outstanding mutual aid including Birdsall, South Dansville and Arkport.

We appreciate everyone coming last night and hope to see more of our members next year.

Our volunteers have seen things that most can never imagine. Having the support from our community and surrounding businesses means the world to us. Hall rentals, donations, coming to our events, thank you cards and showing up when it counts are all important to us. We volunteer because we love our community.

Keep a water source nearby when handling fireworks, and ensure grills are a safe distance from buildings and flammable materials.
