was founded in 1897. The library serves the Village of Canaseraga as well as the outlying areas of Swain, Garwoods, Birdsall, Ossian and Burns. The Not-for Profit
Tax-Exempt organization, a Cornerstone of the community for 114 years, is currently maintained by one paid, part time employee and many volunteers. The miss

ion of the Library is to provide information, both Educational and Cultural to the community and surrounding countryside.

We have our Tai chi class starting Tuesday September 17th at 10 am. We are also participating in The Great Give Back on Saturday October 19th. We would like to show our appreciation by collecting non perishable goods here and donating them to the Garwoods church food pantry. We will be hosting a Stampin Up card party in January so keep watching for more information coming.

Have you missed us? Well, we've been absent due to the pandemic but we are looking forward to reconnecting with "old friends" and hopefully "new ones" too. We will be meeting again in November so stay tuned.

What is the FRIENDS of the ECFL?

The purpose of the FRIENDS of the Essential Club Free Library is to: -Assist the Essential Club Free Library in generating public attention to library programs, services, and activities. -Support the Library in stimulating growth and use of library services and resources. -Raise funds and encourage gifts, donations, endowments, and any other bequests that will enhance and improve the overall function of the library. -No net earnings of the corporation shall benefit any member, trustee, official, individual, or candidate for public office.
