Did you know that you can pick up new green bins at any of our transfer stations?

Whether you just moved to Madison County and don't have one or your old ones have gotten brittle and broken, you can stop into any one of our transfer stations during their open hours and ask the attendant for a new one (or ones).

And remembers, recyclables don't need to be bagged!

The submission deadline is coming up soon! Make sure your K-12 grade artists get their NY Recycles! Calendar art sent in soon!

This year's theme is Community First, Waste Last - think the actions we can do on our own to make a difference but with friends, neighbors, and family. Whether it's sharing clothes, helping each other fix our things, or working together to recycle better - we can do a lot on our own, but we can do even more together!

Check out the post below!

The NY Recycles! Calendar Contest is now accepting submissions! New York State based students in grades K-12 are encouraged to submit artwork based on the theme Community First, Waste Last to be featured in the 2027 NY Recycles! Calendar.

Submissions and questions should be emailed to [email protected].

Since it's Earth Week, we want to share about another type of waste that can harm humans as well as the environment if not disposed of correctly: Used Medical Needles (AKA Sharps!)
Whatever their use may be, they need to be disposed of correctly!
🤓Proper disposal prevents injuries, spread of infections, and environmental contamination
🤲Sharps can be especially dangerous if they enter into our recycling program as human hands do the sorting for that operation! While our recycling center team wears protective gloves and equipment - you can help keep them safe by keeping sharps out of your bins!

Oneida Health Care and several other local health care facilities will help dispose of sharps properly!
See locations here: https://loom.ly/UGri7Ww
Free bio-hazard containers can be picked up from our Transfer Stations and full ones can also be dropped off during open hours as well!
