Madison County and the Village of Canastota invite the public to attend a presentation by Colliers Engineering & Design on their findings and recommendations from a recent study focused on improving water quality in the Old Erie Canal.

The Old Erie Canal is an important historic, recreational, and economic asset that runs through the heart of downtown Canastota. This study looks at ways to address ongoing water quality concerns and support future revitalization efforts along the canal.

While the study focuses on approximately 1.5 miles within the Village of Canastota, many of the recommendations may also apply to other areas along the 36-mile Old Erie Canal waterway system.

Canal-side communities, local residents, trail users, and anyone interested in the future of the Old Erie Canal are encouraged to attend.
