We'll call this a warm-up year! The game didn't go in our favor, but fun was had by all. Congrats to our brothers and sisters from Canastota Volunteer Fire Department for taking home the trophy.

We will use the off-season to regroup and see you at the next one!

🚨 Whew, it is a scorcher out there today! 🥵☀️

The **Heat Index** (what it actually feels like when you combine humidity with the temperature) is hitting dangerous levels. Please take it easy and prioritize staying cool!

💧 Quick Tips to Beat the Heat:

* Hydrate: Drink water *before* you feel thirsty.
* Stay Indoors: Stick to air-conditioned spaces. If you don't have AC, head to a local library, mall, or cooling center.
* Limit Outdoor Time: Save errands or exercise for the early morning or evening, and wear loose, light-colored clothing.

❤️ Check on Your Circle:

* Neighbors & Elderly: Call or drop by to ensure older relatives or neighbors have working AC or fans.
* Kids & Pets: They heat up much faster than adults. Keep them cool, and *never* leave them in a parked car.

⚠️ Watch for Warning Signs: Dizziness, nausea, and headaches are signs of heat exhaustion. If someone is confused, passes out, or stops sweating, call 911 immediately.

Stay safe, drink your water, and look out for one another! 🥤🧊

Another successful weekend down!

Canastota has completed another International Boxing Hall of Fame Parade without a hitch! Greater Lenox provided medical coverage, and is happy to report that everyone remained safe and healthy throughout the event. From the start of the day with the chairs lining the sidewalks downtown, right to the end of the day with the streetsweeper making its rounds (here's to you, Village of Canastota, NY DPW), we were able to simply enjoy the event.

There is a lot of work that happens behind the scenes, and these are the real heroes in our eyes. Paycheck or not, they are all professionals and hold themselves to high standards for their community.
