On behalf of the Canastota Volunteer Fire Department, we would like to extend our sincere appreciation to the community for your patience and support during the first fish fry of the 2026 season. As with any kickoff event, we had a few bugs to work out, and we truly appreciate everyone’s understanding.

We’re also happy to announce that mac and cheese is officially back as an available side and is now included with all dinner purchases.

Thank you again for your continued support — we appreciate each and every one of you. Your support helps us continue serving our community

Due to a major transmission main break OCWA - Central New York’s Water Authority - is urging customers in the following municipalities to reduce non-essential water usage :
• Town of Manlius (including the Villages of Minoa, Fayetteville, and Manlius)
• Town of Pompey
• Town of DeWitt (including customers served by the DeWitt Water system)
• Town of Sullivan (including the Village of Chittenango)
• Town of Lenox (including the Village of Canastota)
• Town of Lincoln

Conservation measures can include:
• Turning off the tap while brushing your teeth, shaving, or washing dishes in the sink.
• Limiting use of dishwashers and clothes washers whenever possible.
• Using water-saving settings on your washing machine.
• Taking shorter showers.
• Reusing water when possible.

Crews are working diligently to complete the complex repair, which is expected to take up to one week. OCWA is employing every available mechanism to maintain consistent water flow and pressure to you, including re-routing water from other sources.

Customers may periodically experience reduced flows and pressures during the coming week.

Any critical concerns during this weekend can be directed to OCWA’s After-Hours Emergency answering service at 315.475.7601. Significant delays in connecting to a representative may occur.

The Authority appreciates the assistance of its customers while the repair is completed and will provide more information as it becomes available.
