Good morning Canby!

Today, the Canby Police Department will be conducting a focused traffic enforcement mission throughout the community with an emphasis on seat belt compliance and distracted driving violations. Residents can expect enhanced enforcement efforts and additional officers dedicated to traffic safety patrols.

This enforcement period coincides with NHTSA’s (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration) national “Click It or Ticket” campaign, which serves as an important reminder that wearing your seat belt and staying focused behind the wheel saves lives.

Far too many serious and fatal crashes involve drivers or passengers who were not wearing seat belts, or drivers whose attention was diverted by phones and other distractions. A moment of inattention can have lifelong consequences.

Our goal is not simply enforcement — it is prevention. We want everyone in our community to arrive safely at their destination, whether they are driving across town or heading home to their families.

Please buckle up, put the phone away, and help us keep Canby’s roads safe for everyone.

Drive Safe!
