A large group assembled at the station for an early morning send off for 3 of Candia’s Vietnam veterans for today’s Honor Flight New England trip to D.C.

The 3 Veterans were picked up in style (thanks to Retired Chief Young) and an es**rt to the airport by Engine 2, Squad 1 and the Town Of Candia Police Department.

Tonight, your Candia Firefighters & EMTs hosted a joint vehicle extrication training with Auburn NH Fire Department and Town Of Candia Police Department.

Often times both Candia and Auburn Fire Departments are working together on Route 101 during accidents.

Joint trainings like these solidify our working partnerships and allow both departments to learn from each other.

This is the first of many joint trainings being planned.

🚨 ‼️ Route 101 Westbound Exit 3 on ramp closure.

The New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) will be closing the Exit 3 on ramp from Old Candia Road to Route 101 Westbound in Candia from the morning of May 26th through approximately June 1st.

We are super excited to share this tonight. This afternoon we were able to recognize Veronika of the Town Cabin Restaurant!

On March 17th, she saved a patron’s life when he began choking while eating at the restaurant. Without hesitation, Veronika ran over and performed the Heimlich several times before successfully dislodging the obstruction. Her actions were taken without hesitation and resulted in a life saved.

A mere week before this event, the fire department provided CPR, AED, and airway obstruction removal review to the staff at the request of the ownership.

Great work, Veronika! Please be sure to congratulate her!

NFPA requires hose and ladder testing be done on an annual basis. These guys make it look easy. Over 8000 feet of hose was tested and repacked and inspected for another year.
