Public Library Card Request Form

Buncombe County Schools students already have access to books through their school library. As an additional service, families also have the opportunity to OPT IN for a NC Digital Public Library card for their student.

If you did not opt in during the fall and would like your student to have access to the public library’s digital collection over the summer, we are opening the opt-in process again for families.

This card gives students access to the public library’s digital collection, including ebooks and audiobooks. Students may check out up to 10 items at a time (ebooks, audiobooks, or a combination of both). Because these materials come directly from the public library collection, students have access to titles across the full collection and are not limited to leveled books.

If you would like your student to receive a NC Digital Public Library card, please complete this form by June 4. The next opportunity to opt in will not be until the 2026–27 school year.

Please complete a separate form for each Buncombe County Schools student.
