Join Jen Collazo tomorrow (Thursday, September 3rd) when she teaches various watercolor techniques to children (ages 7-12) from 3:00-4:30pm and to teens and adults from 5:30-7:00pm. All supplies are provided and the classes are free. No experience required!

If you weren’t able to take these classes when we offered them during the summer, you have another chance! Both are free with all supplies provided (bring a book or item to bedazzle, but we’ll have extra books on hand if you need one). Both are also “work at your own pace” after we give you the few basic instructions you’ll need to get started. We’ll have snacks, beverages, and music to keep you motivated! Call to preregister as class size is limited for both. If you can’t make it to the Wednesday bedazzle class this time, whatever supplies we have left will be out and available at our Community Craft Night which will be the next day (Thursday, September 17th).

We’ve been busy planning! Some classes are “repeats” or “continuations” from this summer as people have been asking for additional ones to be held. Some are Community Craft Nights like we had last year that people also wanted us to resume. Some events are new! We hope you can join us for at least a few of them.

We’ll be posting separate information for each one as the specific date approaches. If you have any questions before then though, please don’t hesitate to contact us by leaving a message here or by giving us a call at 607-659-7258.

All classes/events are free and open to anyone (other than certain age requirements and/or space limitations).

Our next Art class for kids will be on September 3rd from 3:00 - 4:30p.m. Kids will experiment with watercolor and create "Resist Art".

How it works:

*The Resist: Kids draw on paper with a wax crayon, oil pastel, or glue. Wax and oil do not mix with water.

*The Paint: Children brush wet watercolor paint right over the drawing.

*The Magic: The paint sticks to the bare paper but slides right off the crayon, oil pastel or glue lines, creating a cool effect.

Just a reminder that our weekly Story Hour is on a well-deserved break this week and next. The fun will resume on Tuesday, September 8th. The library will be open during its usual Tuesday hours (10-12 and 2-7) so feel free to visit and hang out with us upstairs.
