Congratulations to our high school graduate this year, Miss Riley Lefler. 🎓 She is the daughter of Jason & Lori Lefler of Candor.

What started a few years ago as a junior
firefighter has grown into a true commitment to her community. Over the last few years, she has dedicated countless hours helping our department, assisting with the ladies auxiliary, supporting community events, and now proudly serving as a volunteer firefighter.

Riley graduated from Montgomery Central High School and Montgomery Community College with an Associate in Arts and Phi Theta Kapa honors.

She will attend Western Carolina University in the Fall to pursue her degree in Emergency & Disaster Management.

Riley is excited to continue serving her hometown of Candor as a volunteer firefighter as well as the Eagle Springs community as a firefighter and working at the fitness center.

We are incredibly proud to watch her continue chasing her goals while staying committed to serving others.

Please note that there will be someone testing the town fire hydrants during the next 2 weeks, beginning today (10/13). You may or may not be affected by the testing, but we wanted you to be aware of this process. Don't be alarmed if you see water coming from hydrants, as this is a part of the process. Thank you!

Lot's to do at this year's N.C. PEACH FESTIVAL OPENER ON THURSDAY, JULY 17TH! Sign your team up for Mountaire Farms Flamin' Hot Wing Competition and compete for a chance to win cash, trophies, and the chance to be dubbed the Flamin' Hot Team of 2025! Team Registration is a $25 donation to the Candor VFD.

And for those of you who just want to sit back, relax, and eat some of these great wings - you may purchase an "All U Can Eat" ticket for $25. This ticket will get you 2 wings from each contender, a free drink, and a ballot to participate in the "People's Choice" award by choosing your favorite team's wings (You don't have to vote, but why not?!)
