🌳 Walnut Grove Community Update 🌳
We wanted to share a few updates with our Walnut Grove community as we prepare for the spring season.
🌬️ Storm Damage – Shed Lost in March Wind Storm
During the wind storm on Friday, March 13, our storage shed unfortunately blew away... literally. The shed base had already been in need of repair due to wood rot, and the storm ultimately finished the job. (Pictures in the comments section)
At the moment, we do not have a permanent storage solution for playground supplies and maintenance equipment. If anyone in our community has a connection to someone who may be interested in donating a shed, helping build one, or assisting us with a replacement, we would love to have that conversation. Please feel free to reach out.
🧰 Facilities Manager Position
We will also be reposting the part-time Facilities Manager position soon. We were unfortunately unsuccessful in filling this role last year, but it remains a very important step in helping us keep the playground clean, safe, and well maintained.
If you or someone you know might be interested in some part-time work, please keep an eye out for the job posting.
🌷 Spring Season Official Opening – April 6
As many of you know, our restrooms are locked and winterized during the winter months. We’re happy to share that April 6 will mark the official start of our spring play season, and the bathrooms will reopen that day. We are aware that the playground has been getting some use of the warm days we're having, like today, but we ask that you plan accordingly until Monday, April 6th.
🎟️ Spring Fundraiser Raffle
Also launching on April 6, we will be kicking off a raffle fundraiser to support maintenance and improvements at the playground.
This year’s raffle will feature two prizes:
🥃 Two bottles of rare, high-end bourbon
👜 A Louis Vuitton purse
Each ticket will give you two chances to win:
• The first ticket drawn will get to choose their prize
• The second ticket drawn will receive the remaining prize
More details on tickets will be coming VERY soon.
Thank you for continuing to support The Walnut Grove and helping us keep this special place available for families across our community. 💙
If you have questions, ideas, or can help with the shed replacement, we’d love to hear from you.
