School is back in session, fall sports are underway, and now is a great time to grab some Canistota gear to wear around town and in the stands.

Improvements are here - we have a new boat dock for the east ramp in the water!

We also have plenty of open campsites this weekend. Come out and take advantage of these last few weeks of beautiful weather for swimming and tubing. Fall is right around the corner...

Please join us in welcoming Nicole Engbarth to the Canistota City Council! 👏

Following the completion of Donovan O'Donnell's term, two Ward Two residents expressed interest in filling the open seat. With two willing candidates, the appointment was decided by a card draw, with Nicole selected to serve a one-year term representing Ward Two.

We're grateful to both residents for their willingness to step up and serve our community, and we thank Donovan for his time and service on the council.

What a night! 🧡

A huge thank you to everyone who came out to the Celebrity Donkey Races & Dance, volunteered, sponsored the event, and helped make it such a fun evening for our community.

Most importantly, thank you for supporting the vision of a new playground at Canistota City Park. Every ticket purchased, every donation, and every person who attended brings us one step closer to replacing playground equipment that has served our community for more than 30 years.

But we’re not done yet…

Mark your calendars for Saturday, October 3 for our next major fundraiser: Gun Bingo!

Join us at the American Legion for an evening of bingo, raffles, food, drinks, and great prizes. Several rounds of bingo will give participants the chance to win fi****ms, with the grand prize firearm valued at nearly $1,500. Winners who prefer not to receive a firearm will have the option to take a cash prize instead.

Tickets will be available for purchase in advance, and we’ll be sharing more details as the event gets closer.

Join us for the Celebrity Donkey Races & Dance on Friday, July 31 at the Wendell Anderson Sports Complex!

Gates open at 6:00 PM, races begin at 7:00 PM, and the fun keeps going afterward with live music from Dick Dawson & Friends.

There will be food, drinks and adult beverages available, so come hungry and ready for a fun night out! 😁🍻

Best of all, proceeds help fund a new playground for Canistota City Park, replacing equipment that is more than 30 years old.

• Advance tickets are just $10 through Wednesday.
• Tickets are $15 at the gate.

Save the date for July 31st!

Gates open at 6:00 PM - Races start at 7:00 PM

The fun starts at the Wendell Anderson Sports Complex, 37 Ash Street in Canistota, with thrilling Celebrity Donkey Races.

Once the champion jockey is crowned, the party keeps going with a dance/concert featuring local legend Dick Dawson & friends.

Enjoy tasty food, refreshing drinks, and adult beverages (Photo ID required).

This lively event is a fundraiser to help build a new playground for Canistota City Park, replacing equipment that’s over 30 years old.

The volunteer Canistota Park Committee and the City are teaming up, applying for grants and budgeting funds, with the rest raised through events like this and generous donations toward the $200,000 goal.

NOTE:
