This recognition means so much to our small, 100% volunteer fire department and the festival that represents the heart of hometown spirit—community, service, and the everyday heroes who show up when it matters most.

ATTENTION SLEMCO MEMBERS
Y’all ever seen firefighters try to drag hoses, rescue gear, and equipment through mud, fields, festival grounds, and places trucks can’t reach?

Well… we’re trying to fix that.

The Coulee Croche Firefighters Association is competing for a SLEMCO grant to get a SIDE-BY-SIDE UTILITY VEHICLE and we need YOUR vote to make it happen!

This bad boy would help our volunteers:
• Reach off-road emergencies faster
• Respond to hard-to-access rescue calls
• Provide standby coverage at community events
• Support firefighting and rescue operations all across the parish and surrounding Parishes
And trust us… our volunteers stay BUSY.
You’ve probably seen our crews at:
• Louisiana Mosquito Festival
• Rockin’ On The Runway
• Cankton Courir De Mardi Gras
• Cankton Accordion Festival
• Sunset Herb Festival
…and just about everywhere else people are having a good time!
Our firefighters volunteer countless hours protecting and supporting this community because that’s what we love to do. Now we’re asking for a quick favor in return:

This afternoon, we were honored to receive a visit from Fr. Ken with St. John Berchman's, who took time to bless our new Engine 401 as we officially welcome it into service with Coulee Croche Fire District 4.

Moments like these are a reminder that our work is more than response and equipment — it’s service rooted in community, faith, and purpose.

We are grateful for the blessing, the support, and the opportunity to continue strengthening our ability to serve and protect our area.
