Made possible by the community support that we have received,  last night all of engine 2’s hose was replaced with new, NFPA compliant, color coded hose. This hose is replacing hose that is on average between 30 and 40 years old, and very unreliable. SO… WE THANK YOU, for your support!!!

Yesterday morning around 4:30 AM Montgomery and Cannelburg Fire units were dispatched along highway 50 for a semi that had ran off the roadway. Upon arrival, fire units assisted the driver from the vehicle, and directed traffic until the tow truck was able to pull the vehicle from the ditch.

Monday morning Montgomery and Cannelburg Fire were dispatched to the area of 350N, East of 1200E, for a two vehicle accident. Initial reports were that one vehicle was on its side with three people trapped inside. Upon arrival of Engine 2, vehicle was stabilized and was determined that the patients were alert, but unable to self extricate. Crews utilized the spreaders and sawzall and effectively removed all three patients.

Later this morning around 10:45, multiple local departments were dispatched to assist Madison TWP Fire, at a sawmill with multiple piles of logs on fire. Requesting tanker assistance for a water supply. Upon arrival tanker 2 was utilized as an additional pumper, with the nursing system for supply. Units were available shortly afternoon.

Yesterday afternoon, Montgomery and Cannelburg Fire were dispatched for a field fire along highway 50 near 800 E. Upon arrival brush 2 located a very small fire traveling north across the field. Units on scene quickly extinguished the field fire and contained the brush pile.

Yesterday afternoon, Montgomery and Cannelburg Fire units were requested to assist in a fire that approached, and caught a structure on fire. Upon arrival units quickly got to work, making many different attempts and using multiple strategies to try to stop the attic fire.  unfortunately, There was extensive damage into the main level, as most of the ceiling dropped due to structure damage. Units were on the scene for about 2 1/2 hours.

This afternoon, just after 3:30pm Montgomery and Cannelburg Fire departments were dispatched to the area of 400 N. just east of 650 E, for a shed on fire, believed everyone was out of the building. A unit arrived within seconds, providing scene size up, assuring no one was injured or in the building, and requested tanker assistance from Plainville, and Madison TWP. Upon arrival of fire apparatus, aggressive, defensive attack was achieved, saving a smaller outbuilding, and a semi trailer up next to the building. Firefighters were also able to save several small items from the rear of the building before becoming fully engulfed. Fire is believed to have started accidentally, near the wall heater. Big thanks to those assisting today!!!
