Spring and summer yardwork season is here on the Oregon Coast—and so is wildfire risk.

Even small sparks from everyday tools can ignite dry grass and brush faster than most people realize. Whether you’re mowing, trimming, welding, or just parking off the road, a few simple precautions can make the difference between a routine chore and a dangerous wildfire. Cannon Beach Fire is sharing these reminders to help everyone stay safe, prepared, and fire‑smart as the weather warms.

As we head into the warmer months, our coastal community faces a growing risk of wildland‑urban interface fires.
Spring and early summer are the perfect times to clear debris, check your equipment, and make sure your home is ready for drier conditions. A few simple steps—like trimming vegetation, maintaining defensible space, and testing alarms—go a long way in protecting your family and your neighborhood.
Let’s work together to keep Cannon Beach safe, prepared, and resilient all season long.

We’ve got some exciting news to share! 🚒

The Cannon Beach Fire District is proud to announce the upcoming expansion of the Arch Cape Fire Station!

Last year, the district was awarded a $1.3 million grant for a seismic renovation project. In addition to critical seismic upgrades, this project will expand the station to better serve our community. Plans include new living quarters on the south side of the station and a separate storage building on the northwest corner of the property.

We’re also excited to share that IMEG Consulting has been selected as the project architect and engineer, with Cove Built serving as the contractor.

As part of the process, a public meeting will be held on April 30, 2026. We anticipate breaking ground in Fall 2026, with project completion targeted for Spring 2027.

Once complete, the upgraded station will house student firefighters, provide space for resident volunteers, and accommodate overnight stays for additional volunteers. This investment will significantly enhance emergency response capabilities for the Arch Cape and Falcon Cove areas.

Stay tuned for more updates as we move forward and thank you for your continued support of Cannon Beach Fire District!
