Ecola Creek Forest Reserve (ECFR) Riprap Installation Notice 8/24-9/4

When: Starting: Monday, August 24th 7AM. Ending: Friday, Sept. 4th 5PM (if not sooner)

Where: ECFR entry road past the Water Treatment Plant to the bridge and beyond as needed for heavy equipment hauling and turn around.

Notes: While the ECFR will remain open, it is advised to avoid the area. If you do enter, please watch for heavy equipment. Do not wear headphones or other listening devices that inhibit your ability to hear. Wear bright clothing to be seen. Make eye contact with equipment operators prior to proceeding. City crews appreciate your support during this important project.

Cannon Beach Police were notified by United States Fish and Wildlife Law Enforcement that the two paragliders were contacted and citations were issued to both pilots. Citations were for Unauthorized Aircraft while Harassing Wildlife. United States Fish and Wildlife thank the partnership of the Cannon Beach Police Department. Working together to keep our Marine Gardens and Wildlife Refuges undisturbed for all to enjoy. Oregon Coast National Wildlife Refuges

🚨 Wildlife Disturbance Report Near Haystack Rock

This afternoon, the Cannon Beach Police Department was made aware of two paragliders operating around Haystack Rock and reportedly disturbing local wildlife. Officers identified the two individuals piloting the paragliders and completed a report documenting the incident. The information will be forwarded to U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Law Enforcement for review and potential enforcement action.

We appreciate everyone who took the time to report the incident and help protect the wildlife that makes Cannon Beach such a special place. Your vigilance and partnership help keep Cannon Beach a safe and welcoming place to live and visit.

*Parking Lot Closure Notice*

To facilitate the removal of temporary modular trailers, portions of the East 2nd parking lots will be temporarily closed.
• Lime Green Parking Lot: Closed Monday, August 3 through Thursday, August 6.
• Red Parking Lot: Closed Tuesday, August 4 through Thursday, August 6.
Both parking lots will reopen for public use on Friday, August 7.

The Recycling Center will remain open and accessible during its normal operating hours throughout the closures.

The City appreciates your patience during this work. In cooperation with the Police Department, Bike Aides will be on-site in the late morning and afternoon hours to assist motorists by providing information and helping with traffic control.
