Community Appreciation: Music in the Park

What a beautiful evening!

On Thursday, August 20, the Cannon Falls Lions and the Cannon Valley Senior Center partnered together to host a Community Appreciation Music in the Park evening held at the Lions East Side Park.

We enjoyed:
Hot dogs, chips, cookies
Great music by the Mill Run Band
John Wegmann stopped by with a trishaw bike from the Cycling Without Age program to give rides!
The Cycling Without Age program has also partnered with Cannon River Senior Living, bringing residents rides 2x a week. It’s wonderful to see our community coming together to keep people connected and active.

Thank you to the Lions, Mill Run Band, John, our volunteers, and everyone who came out to celebrate with us.

There’s so much life around Cannon Falls Community— we hope you’ll keep being part of the fun!

A huge thank you to our Coffee Time speaker today, Buddha Rob! This week Rob visited CVSC and took us inside the world of tattooing.

Rob shared the story of his journey to becoming a tattoo artist and gave us a fascinating look behind the scenes at Immanent Ink here in Cannon Falls. He currently has 8 artists (including 2 interns) in his shop, Immanent Ink.

We learned about the equipment they use, how the tattooing process works, and what it takes to get licensed. The questions and comments just kept coming — there was so much interest!

Thank you, Rob, for your time, your stories, and for opening our eyes to the artistry and professionalism of tattooing. We appreciate you sharing with the Cannon Valley Senior Center!
