We’re proud that our campaign stayed positive, honest, and focused on the facts. Throughout this process, we worked hard to treat others with kindness and respect, even when faced with negativity and misinformation. We believe in leading with transparency and integrity, and we’ll continue to support efforts that strengthen our community.

Thank you to everyone who showed up, volunteered, shared information, waved signs, and voted YES, both this year and last. Your support means more than words can express.

We may not know what the future holds, but we encourage everyone to stay involved, attend Cañon City Rec District board meetings, Cañon City Council meetings, and keep the conversation going.

We all live, work, and play here. And we all want to see a brighter, healthier future for Cañon City. 💙

💦 Wondering what 2B actually is? 💦

There’s been a lot of confusion, so here’s the simple truth: 2B is not a property tax or a mill levy.
It’s a small 2.25% tourism excise tax that applies only to local attractions things like amusement rides, scenic tours, and excursions.

That means it’s:
🚫 NOT on groceries
🚫 NOT on restaurants
🚫 NOT on gas
🚫 NOT on events like Whitewater Fest, car shows, or rodeos
🚫 NOT something local families will see on their receipts unless they’re buying attraction tickets

💧 In short: Tourists help keep our pool running, and locals keep their costs low.
