If you’re planning on doing yard work this weekend, or any time for that matter, GA Forestry wants to remind you to use the SSTAR method when burning those piles of leaves or limbs that have built up over winter…

S - Space - 25+ feet of distance between the fire and woodlands

S - Space - 50+ feet of distance between the fire and any structure

T - Time - only burn from sunrise to sunset

A - Attendance - if you light it, you have to stay with it until it’s done burning

R - Reasonable Precautions - don’t burn on windy days, have a rake/shovel/water hose near by in case things get out of hand
