As we wrap up the interior renovation on the Canon Theatre, our team is thrilled to start meeting with our collaborators and partners who will bring it to life!

Our board members, Lisa Bell Scarmazzi and Paul Scarmazzi , along with our new Managing Director, Blair Trunzo, welcomed Patrick Cannon of Little Lake Theatre and Brian Drusky of Drusky Entertainment , along with their teams, to revisit the space in all its glory.

A Major Milestone for Canonsburg!

We're proud to announce the Canon Theatre, a signature project of the Canonsburg Educational and Cultural Institute (CECI), opening this fall.

More than a renovation, the Canon Theatre is the reimagining of Canonsburg's historic former middle school auditorium into a vibrant destination for:
• Live performances
• Educational programming
• Film and speaker series
• Community celebrations and corporate events

This state-of-the-art 560+ seat venue will feature modern acoustics, enhanced accessibility, and flexible gathering spaces designed to create an inclusive and dynamic experience for all.

We're grateful for the support of our community partners, including Visit Washington County PA, to work together to bring this vision to life.

As we prepare for the opening of our new Wylandville Elementary School, we invite families to join us for an informal community information session on the district’s redistricting process.

District administrators will provide brief overviews on:
📍 The Wylandville project and K-4 redistricting
📊 The redistricting analytics process
💰 Wylandville funding
🎒 Full day kindergarten planning
👋 Meet the new Wylandville Elementary principals

Following the presentations, families will have the opportunity to ask questions and speak with district administrators.

If you plan to attend, please RSVP by July 21. If you’re unable to attend, additional opportunities to learn more and ask questions will be available throughout the 2026-2027 school year.

Congratulations to Dr. Stacie Doman, kindergarten teacher at South Central Elementary School, on earning her doctorate! 🎓

Dr. Doman successfully defended her dissertation, “Recommendations to Improve Strategies for Engaging Parents in Phonics Instruction at South Central Elementary School in Pennsylvania.” We are proud of this incredible accomplishment and her continued commitment to supporting student learning and family engagement! 🌟
