The long-anticipated enrollment for the North Strabane Township Citizens Fire Academy has officially opened. If you want to see how your fire department works and get a firsthand look at the behind-the-scenes operations, this opportunity is for you. Challenge yourself, meet new people, and spend some time with the men and women of our department. This class will fill up quick so scan the QR code to register.

North Strabane Township Police Department hosted their first annual National Night Out. National Night Out is an annual community-building event promoting police-community partnerships, held nationwide on the first Tuesday of August.
For 2026, public safety personnel teamed up and visited several neighborhoods in the Township. We want to thank all of our residents who came out to support our police department for this event and, we look forward for next year. We love seeing everyone outside enjoying the park and the beautiful weather! Recently we have seen an increase in electric bikes being used within the park. While we welcome you to enjoy the park and the designated pathways, we ask that you enjoy these pathways with a non-motorized bicycle, scooter, or skateboard only. All motorized recreation bikes, etc. are not permitted within the park 🚲

On April 3, 2026, members of the North Strabane Township Police Department, North Strabane Township Fire Department, and Washington Ambulance and Chair Service responded to a critical incident involving a three-year-old child who was critically injured in a lawn mower accident.

At the township meeting on May 26th, the professionalism, dedication, and lifesaving efforts of those responders were formally recognized by the township.
