The Frank Sarris Public Library has resources and programing to help people dealing with dementia and their caretakers.

There are 20 Memory Care Kits available for check-out. They are recommended for caregivers assisting those with mild to moderate dementia. Each Memory Care Kit includes games, books, and activities designed to encourage participation and conversation.

Also, beginning September 21, join Presbyterian SeniorCare Network and Gateway Hospice for our monthly **Memory Cafés**. The cafés will be held on the **first Monday of each month from 12:00–1:30 p.m.** and the **third Monday of each month from 4:00–5:30 p.m.**

Connect with others who understand what you are going through, share your thoughts, and talk openly in a safe, supportive, and engaging setting. These monthly gatherings, guided by experts in the field, are for people living with dementia and their family members, friends, and/or care partners.

We will offer a **Lunch & Learn for families and care partners**, while providing a separate activity for loved ones. Different topics will be offered each month, and light refreshments will be provided.

*Attendees are encouraged to bring their loved ones living with dementia, but you can also attend on your own.*

September marks World Alzheimer’s Month, a global effort to share facts, reduce stigma, and encourage early conversations about brain health. Every voice helps create a more supportive future for those affected. This month we are posting facts about detecting early signs, and support information on social media to help highlight dementia education.

2026 Fall/Winter Storytimes begin on September 15!

Tuesday
Toddler Storytime • 10:15–10:45 a.m.
Toddler Time taps into a toddler's boundless energy to get your child excited about books and reading! This storytime includes short stories, finger plays, action rhymes, and songs. If you think your child might not sit still during a storytime, we don't expect them to! Come ready to dance, wiggle, and play as we learn together!

This 30-minute program is designed for toddlers aged 1 to 3.

Preschool Storytime • 11:15–11:45 a.m.
Encourage your children to foster a love for lifelong reading by taking them to storytime at your local library. Enjoy books, songs, activities, and more as your preschoolers build early literacy skills.

Suitable for children ages 3 through 5.

Wednesday
Wiggles & Giggles • 10:15–10:45 a.m.
Join us for some wiggling and giggling fun! Enjoy this lively movement class with your little one, where we'll explore music, rhymes, fine-motor fingerplays, and large-motor movements.

For children ages 1–4 and their caregivers. Because of the nature of this program, we ask everyone to actively participate with their children by dancing and trying out the motions. Please wear comfortable clothes and shoes that allow for movement!

Little Picasso • 11:00–11:45 a.m.
Do you have a budding artist at home? Little Picasso is an interactive art program that lets preschoolers explore with various art supplies and encourages them to express and develop their imagination.

School Readiness • 12:00–12:30 p.m.
School Readiness is an afternoon class for children ages 4 to 6. Kids will sing songs, read stories, and play games while building essential skills like active listening and following directions.

Junior Engineer • 1:30–2:00 p.m.
This program aims to teach preschool children fundamental engineering concepts through exploring picture books. There will be plenty of hands-on activities, story sharing, and active listening.

📚 **Did You Know?** 📚

Dolly Parton’s **Imagination Library** has given away **more than 300 million books** to children around the world since the program began in 1995! 🎉

That’s more than 300 million opportunities for children to discover a new story, meet a new character, learn something new, and fall in love with reading. ❤️📖

The Imagination Library provides children with a free, high-quality book every month from birth until age 5, helping make sure that every child has books of their own at home.

As a public library, we love seeing programs that put books directly into the hands of children and help build a lifelong love of reading. **Every book matters, and every child deserves the opportunity to read.** 📚 ❤️

Thank you, Dolly, for understanding the importance of getting books into the hands of children at an early age.
