McPherson Area Solid Waste Utility (M.A.S.W.U) will be closed Monday, September 7th, 2026 for the Labor Day Holiday. All routes for September 7th-11th will run one day late.

The Transfer Station located at 1431 17th Avenue, McPherson will be open Saturday September 5th normal hours 8:00 am- 4:00 pm.

City of Canton Office will be closed Monday, September 7th, 2026 for the Labor Day holiday. Please use the drop box for payments and correspondence. Maintenance is available for water emergencies at 620-654-7735. We will re-open on Tuesday, September 8th, 2026 regularly scheduled hours. Thank you.

We have noticed an increase in trash materials in the recycling containers. We contacted MASWU and they provided new stickers. If you utilize the recycling please make sure you are putting things in the correct locations. There is no public trash dumpster in the city. If you have trash materials please use your home dumpster or you may take it directly to MASWU in McPherson.

City Wide Clean Up will be September 11-13, 2026. Friday 7am through Sunday 5pm or until dumpster are full. Dumpsters will be located at 1st St and Railroad St in the empty City lot. If you need assistance taking items to the dumpster location, please call the City Office by 4:00 pm on Thursday September 10th to be put on the list. Maintenance will only pick up items placed on the edge of your property. All items must be out to the curb before 8:00am on Saturday September 11th.
Please do not place rubber tires, oil, paint, hazardous materials, or very large items in the dumpsters or out for pick up.
