This dog was located near SD Highway 115 and 280th Street near Worthing and was safely picked up by a community member.

**EDIT: 4:30PM**

The broken metal has been cut flush with the roadway. Cones have been removed and the left westbound lane is back open!

***TRAFFIC ADVISORY***

The westbound left lane of 5th Street along the railroad crossing between Pleasant St. and Blair St. is closed for approximately 100-200 feet due to damage to the railroad tracks. A section of metal rail has been bent upward into the roadway. This metal hazard has been marked with pink paint to improve visibility. Barricades and traffic cones have also been placed to help prevent vehicle damage.
Canton PD is currently awaiting information from BNSF Railway regarding when repairs will be completed. Motorists are asked to use caution in the area.

Yesterday, the Canton Police Department was honored to welcome the Canton Area Preschool & Childcare Center for a special visit to the Police and Fire Departments. Officers enjoyed meeting the preschool class, giving tours, answering questions, and showing the kids around our facilities and vehicles.

We appreciate the opportunity to connect with our community’s youngest residents and hope everyone had a fun and memorable visit. Thank you for stopping by! 🚓🚒👮‍♂️👧👦
