Our animals can always count on our amazing community. Let’s celebrate Marlin’s birthday by bringing extra love and comfort to our shelter animals! Happy Birthday, Marlin! Thank you for making a difference and reminding us how much one person’s kindness can mean to the animals in our care.

Marlin, a 7-year-old poodle, works as a certified therapy dog at Woodstock Funeral Home in downtown Woodstock.

Senior dogs remind us that friendship only grows sweeter with time. Their faces may grow a little grayer, their steps a little slower, but their hearts are still full of love. They teach us that true friendship isn’t about how long we have together, but how deeply we love each other through every season of life. If you are looking for that one true friendship, we may have a few at the Cherokee County Animal Shelter. These senior friends are available now for adoption. Please come see them. They really want their forever home. ❤️

We Need You! The storm is brewing and these babies need help!

With hurricane Isaias on our mind, let’s not forget the innocent lives waiting behind kennel doors at the Cherokee County animal shelter. These dogs and cats are waiting for someone to choose them and someone to give them their forever home they deserve. They didn’t ask to be in the shelter, they don’t understand why they are here, they want a chance to be loved again.
Let’s get these babies adopted.
Can you open your home to a new best friend? Can you give a deserving dog a second chance, can you make room in your heart for the purrfect kitty?

If you can’t adopt please share this post you’re sharing could be the one that gets an animal noticed by their future family. Every adoption matters every share matters these babies deserve to weather every storm surrounded by love, comfort, and the people who will never give up on them.

Please note that the Cherokee County Animal Shelter operates as a 'first come, first serve' facility. This means we do not put animals on hold and we do not have any kind of pre-adoption paperwork. There is no physical line for Saturday adoptions or adoption events.

On these days, CCAS utilizes a Virtual Line in which guests use their phone scan a QR code, fill out the required information on their phone, and wait for their turn in line. Please note that checking into the Virtual Line does not guarantee the pet that the party is interested in will be available, as our facility adopts on a 'first come, first serve' basis.

Are you looking for a cat? WE HAVE THOSE!
Are you looking for a very specific cat? Weirdly enough, we probably have that too.
Looking for a cat with extra toes, a tiny tail, or even a color that makes you question their kitty genetics? COME SEE US!!

We are busting at the seams with so many unique, wonderful kitties that each have their own quirks and personalities. We have bonded pairs(2 for 1 deal if you ask us!). We have kitties that prefer to be an only sibling. We have kittens that like to ride on your shoulder like the parrot from your favorite pirate movie. We have mama cats that are ready to start their new life with you!

Every cat and kitten goes home:
🐾 Spayed or neutered
🐾 Vaccinated
🐾 Microchipped
🐾 Started on preventatives
Only thing missing is a loving home and a lap to curl up in. ❤️

Not in a place to adopt? Please share or comment your favorite photo of your special cat to help boost this post! Tell your friends, your family, your neighbors, your favorite cashier at the grocery store, and anyone else who may be in the market for a new furry friend!

🐾 WE NEED YOUR HELP! 🐾
The Cherokee County Animal Shelter is in need of a few important supplies to help us care for all of our furry friends! ❤️🐶🐱
We are currently in need of:
🗑️ 33-gallon garbage bags🧻 Paper towels🦴 Hard chews for our large & extra-large dogs💊 Pill pockets to help our dogs take their medications
These may seem like simple everyday items, but they are things we go through constantly and rely on to keep our shelter clean, safe, and our animals happy and healthy.
If you are able to donate any of these items, we would be incredibly grateful! Every donation, big or small, makes a difference to the animals in our care. 🐾❤️
Thank you for always supporting the Cherokee County Animal Shelter and for helping us take care of the animals who are waiting for their forever homes! 🏠🐕🐈
Our shelter animals thank you! ❤️🐾
