COOLING ASSISTANCE PROGRAM NOTICE
Will open April 1st to those who are 65 yrs young and older. You will need to call the office of the county you live in to get on the list.
The number for the Cherokee County office is _770-345-6531_
The number for the Jasper office is 706-692-6803
Per federal program guidelines, April 1, 2026 through April 30, 2026 cooling assistance will only be available to priority individuals. This is defined as age 65 and older or medically homebound. All other individuals will be able to apply for cooling energy assistance on May 1, 2026 as long as funds are still available.

The Heating assistance program will open December 1st to those who are 65 or older or medically homebound. Please call the office in the county that you live in. We will be happy to schedule you an appointment. I can't wait to see everyone. Please keep in mind that we do not open until 8:30 am and you must speak with a staff member to get on the list and get an appointment.

PLEASE HELP US SPREAD THE WORD *Winter Weather Shelter will be open tonight, Jan. 6, through Friday, Jan. 10.** Our team is closely monitoring the forecast. It will be shared later this week if we extend the shelter's opening for additional days.

The MUST Winter Weather Shelter is open to women, children and men.
**All winter weather clients must report by 8 P.M. to stay in the shelter and will receive dinner and a hot breakfast in the morning.**

The devastation that so many have suffered due to Hurricane Helene is just heartbreaking. To see so many people from all over come together during this difficult time is such a blessing. Any of our Cherokee friends and neighbors whish to help can drop things off at the office. I will gladly take them to our central office.

You have the oppurtunity to share what you think are unmet needs in your community.
