Did you know that there's a difference between "Unknown Number" and "No Caller ID" phone calls? While both can scam calls, unknown numbers are literally numbers your mobile provider cannot recognize. The information could be intentionally hidden, or could also be due to an error or from a call made by an independent carrier. Alternately, no caller ID means that the caller is intentionally blocking their information from appearing.

Even though there are differences, it's recommended to send both to voicemail and never call them back unless you can verify who is calling. For more information, check out the breakdown in this Reader's Digest article:

Experts decode the difference between "unknown caller" and "no caller ID." Here's how to keep yourself safe from scams.
