GiGi's Playhouse Canton Every day, GiGi’s Playhouse changes lives by providing free, life-changing therapeutic, educational and career training programs for individuals of all ages.

We change lives through consistent delivery of free educational, therapeutic-based and career development programs for individuals with Down syndrome of all ages through a replicable playhouse model. GiGi’s Playhouse is the only international network of Down Syndrome Achievement Centers, with over 57 brick and mortar locations across the United States and Mexico and 200 inquiries to start new locations all over the world. From prenatal diagnosis to career skills, GiGi’s makes a lifetime commitment to families. GiGi’s helps maximize opportunities for daily achievement and lasting acceptance.

This past weekend, we had the privilege of gathering with some of the incredible people who make our mission possible for a private Partner Appreciation Party at Haymaker's Mill 1875. It was a night filled with gratitude, connection, and a shared commitment to creating opportunities for individuals with Down syndrome.

A special thank-you to the local businesses who helped make our evening memorable: Haymaker’s Mill 1875, Cleveland Keys Dueling Pianos, Palombo's Italian Restaurant, It's Cookie Day, and Unfused Brew Hall. We are so grateful for your generosity, partnership, and support of our mission!

Changing the way the world views Down syndrome is not something we can accomplish alone. It takes donors who invest in possibilities, volunteers who give their time and talents, families who share their stories and trust us with their journeys, and community partners who believe in a more inclusive world. Thank you for standing alongside us, believing in our mission, and helping ensure that individuals with Down syndrome and their families have access to FREE, life-changing opportunities in our community. ** SOUND ON ** A famous YouTuber called Down syndrome “a glitch.” So here's GiGi Gianni. ​

She sang the national anthem in front of 40,000 people, spoke at the UN on why babies like her deserve to be born, and launched a national speaking tour.​

For 23 years, she's been proving every low expectation wrong, and she's just one of 35,000+ people GiGi's Playhouse serves, free, for life. ​

We're not angry. We're busy. 💛 ​

If you just received a diagnosis and you're scared, we've been waiting for you since 2003. Our programs are offered at no cost. They're forever. No matter what, no matter when. ​

GiGi’s Playhouse is 99% volunteer-run, which means we simply couldn’t do what we do without our amazing volunteers!

Here’s a look at the impact they’ve made so far in 2026:
• 16 different programs
• 276 unique volunteers
• 5,600+ volunteer hours logged this year

That’s over 5,600 hours of support, learning, connection, fun, and behind-the-scenes help that make our Playhouse possible!

Happy Event Organizers Day!

We want to give a special shout-out and a HUGE thank you to our event committees who work behind the scenes to create beautiful memories, bring our community together, and help make it possible to raise the funds that keep our programs 100% FREE for our participants and their families!

Our Canton Playhouse has two major fundraising events made possible by these event organizers:
• A Night for GiGi’s gala (March 13, 2027)
• GiGi's Playhouse 5K: Dash for Down Syndrome (August 14, 2027)

From planning and organizing to all the little details in between, these events wouldn’t be possible without the dedication of our volunteers and the generosity of our sponsors.

So many interests, talents, relationships, and unique qualities make up these incredible individuals. These are their names. These are their stories. These are the people who make our world more beautiful.

Yes, they have Down syndrome, but they are so much more than an extra chromosome. They are individuals with their own dreams, passions, personalities, and abilities.

Did you know?
• Down syndrome is the most commonly occurring chromosomal condition in the United States, yet it remains the least funded.

• About 1 in every 775 babies born in the United States has Down syndrome (that’s approximately 5,000 babies every year).

• Life expectancy for individuals with Down syndrome has increased dramatically, from 25 years in the 1980's to approximately 60 years old today.

• Access to consistent, individualized support makes a difference. Educational, therapeutic, and career development opportunities help individuals with Down syndrome build skills, develop independence, and reach their personal best.

Here's the statistic we want to change: Every individual deserves the opportunity to reach their full potential, yet that opportunity depends on access, resources, and a community that believes in them. Individuals with Down syndrome are living longer, fuller lives, and opportunities to learn, grow, work, and contribute matter at every stage.
