CPD Patrol out weathering the storm. Visibility is minimal.

Hold off on the errands today, stay home and stay warm.

As for the street parking concerns, multiple vehicles were removed overnight and during the early morning hours, we're doing our best to allocate resources when available.

Netflix and ch… shovel szn (we’re “with it”).

As you prepare for the 1” to 50” snowstorm, help us help you. Stay off the roads, it will make snow removal much easier for our friends at the D.P.W.

When it’s time to shovel, help our brothers and sisters over at the Canton Fire Department and shovel out the nearest fire hydrant.

Don’t forget the Letter Carriers, clear a path to your mailbox/walkway.

As for us, please behave. We don’t need or want any new roommates at the CPD Inn this weekend.

Hydrate responsibly and stay safe.

PS. Don’t park on the street, vehicles impeding snow removal are subject to tow.

Community Alert:
Be wary of this “current” scam that has plagued surrounding communities.

It has been dubbed the “grandchild/child in jail” scam, and the scammer has been calling their victims asking for money to bail them out. They go through great lengths to attempt to trick their victims. They have access to names, dates of birth, addresses, and even colleges attended (google your name, that's how easy it is).

DO NOT send, wire, or leave money out for pick up.

When in doubt, call your local police department to verify.

The primary targets for this scam have been our senior citizens.

Instead of unsolicited political chatter (or rants) on Thursday, please consider helping us spread the word regarding this scam, especially to those without social media.

Also – this goes without saying, lock your car doors. There’s a Grinch on the loose and there have been several reports of car breaks in the area. We’ll get into more holiday safety tips next week.

It’s that time of year again.

The Canton Police Department has partnered with Toys for Tots and will be collecting new, unwrapped toys, November 1st to December 14th.

The toy collection box is in the Lobby of Canton Police Headquarters.

Last year was a huge success. Toys for Tots (Boston) collected over 90,000 toys, which went to over 61,000 children. They (and we) couldn’t have done it without your support and donations.

Some dangerous stuff out there...

The United States Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) has issued a Public Safety Alert for a significant increase in counterfeit prescription pills being found across the nation. The pills that have been seized were analyzed and have been found to contain fentanyl and meth.

Yesterday, in a coordinated effort with the DEA, the Attleboro and Norton Police Departments seized over 6 pounds of counterfeit prescription pills (https://www.thesunchronicle.com/news/local_news/attleboro-man-arrested-in-raid-police-seize-over-3-kilos-of-counterfeit-prescription-pills/article_4f699b05-364d-569c-8c8f-ece46b278816.html).

The counterfeit pills are extremely dangerous and widely available (as you can see, as close as Attleboro).
