Starting Monday, November 16, Canton will officially launch a new, streamlined online payment platform powered by BS&A. This updated system will replace the current platform, InvoiceCloud, for online transactions.

Residents and business owners can use the BS&A portal to pay for a variety of services online, including:
• Water and sewer bills
• Property tax payments
• Permits and inspections
• Miscellaneous township invoices

If you currently use InvoiceCloud to make automatic payments, your payment information and auto payment preference will be transferred automatically; however, you will still need to re-register your account after November 16 at www.bsaonline.com/Registration.

The BS&A platform supports multiple payment methods to offer maximum flexibility:
• eChecks (ACH/EFT): Payments can be made directly from your checking or savings account. There is no service fee for choosing the electronic check option.
• Credit & Debit Cards: Mastercard, Visa, Discover, and American Express are all accepted. Please note that a service fee will be applied to all card transactions.
• Google Pay and Apple Pay.
• Payments by phone at 734/390-4313.

Statement from Canton Township Supervisor Anne Marie Graham-Hudak Regarding ICE Activity Near Hulsing Elementary School in Canton:

This week, our community experienced Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) activity and arrests near Hulsing Elementary School. We recognize the concern these events have caused for residents, particularly families with children attending nearby schools.

First and foremost, our children are safe. I want to commend the Canton Police Department, our Public Safety personnel, and Plymouth-Canton Community Schools for their immediate, professional, and coordinated response. Their swift actions helped ensure the safety of students, school staff, and surrounding neighborhoods.

I also want to thank the residents who immediately contacted Canton Police to report what they were witnessing. Your vigilance and willingness to look out for your neighbors are essential to keeping our community safe.

Neither the Canton Police Department nor Plymouth-Canton Community Schools had advance knowledge of, or participated in, the ICE operation or the detention of individuals.

Throughout the day, we were in urgent communication with Congresswoman Debbie Dingell, State Representative Ranjeev Puri, and the Michigan Attorney General's Office. Those conversations are continuing as we work to understand the events which took place and protect the safety and well-being of our community.

We strongly encourage residents who observe ICE activity in their neighborhoods to contact the Canton Police Department. Our officers are here to protect you and respond to concerns in our community. For everyone's safety, please do not confront or interfere with federal agents. Instead, report your observations to the Canton Police Department.

Canton is a welcoming community, and the safety of our children, families, and neighborhoods remains our highest priority. We will continue working with our public safety professionals, school officials, and state and federal representatives to keep our residents safe and informed.

Township Supervisor Anne Marie Graham-Hudak moderated a panel on transportation road safety at the SEMCOG, Southeast Michigan Council of Governments, General Assembly last week. Leaders across southeastern Michigan continue working closely with SEMCOG to make our roads safer for our communities and region. In addition to Supervisor Graham-Hudak, attendees included Dearborn Mayor Abdullah Hammoud, Erie Township Supervisor Michael Grodi, SEMCOG Transportation Modeling Planner Brian Pawlik, Macomb County Roads Planning Director Irvin Wyche, and SEMCOG Transportation Modeling Planner Jenya Abramovich.

In recognition of Veterans Day, Canton Township will honor local veterans with “Faces of Service,” a special presentation and exhibit that shares the stories, experiences, and sacrifices of local servicemen and servicewomen.

Residents are invited to attend this free community event, presented by Canton Township and the Partnership for the Arts & Humanities, on Wednesday, November 11, at the Summit on the Park Banquet Center, located at 46000 Summit Parkway. The event will feature a brief formal program beginning at 11 a.m., including remarks from Canton Supervisor Anne Marie Graham-Hudak, a Presentation of the Colors by Canton Public Safety, music, and refreshments. The program will conclude with the official opening of the exhibit, which will remain on display in the Summit on the Park lobby through November 20.

To help honor these dedicated individuals, Canton Township is requesting public photo submissions for the exhibit. Community members are encouraged to provide the name, rank, branch of service, and a photo of area veterans or active-duty service members. Materials should be submitted by Monday, November 2, online at https://tinyurl.com/facesofservice or dropped off at Canton Club 55+ in the Summit on the Park. Last night, the Township Board of Trustees recognized multiple Public Safety employees and two good Samaritans for heroic actions displayed during two vehicle crash/fire scenes in the past year.

These dangerous and chaotic scenes were effectively managed by the Police Officers, Firefighters, and Public Safety Service Officers who worked under extremely hazardous conditions to protect the victims and the surrounding community. Despite significant risks to their own safety, their actions helped restore order and saved the lives of multiple individuals.

We congratulate them on their outstanding service to the Canton Community.

As a Reminder, Priority Waste will hold their final Canton Clean-up for 2026 this Saturday, October 17 from 8am-4pm at their facility located at 39000 Van Born Road.

Canton Clean-up is for residents only and limited to ONE TRIP PER HOUSEHOLD. Residents are responsible for unloading their own items and placing them in the dumpster.
