πŸš’ BIG NEWS FOR THE CRUSO COMMUNITY! πŸš’

Cruso Fire & Rescue is proud to announce that effective October 1, 2026, our department has officially received an ISO Class 5 Fire Protection Rating!

This achievement represents countless hours of hard work, training, planning, equipment improvements, and dedication by our firefighters, officers, board members, and the many community partners who have supported our department.

The North Carolina Office of State Fire Marshal presented our new rating during a ceremony on July 13, 2026, recognizing the commitment of Cruso Fire & Rescue to providing the highest level of fire protection possible for our community.

A Class 5 rating is an important milestone that reflects improvements in fire suppression capabilities, communications, training, water supply, and overall department operations. Most importantly, this new rating may help many homeowners and businesses qualify for lower property insurance premiums beginning October 1, 2026. Since every insurance company uses ISO ratings differently, we encourage everyone to contact their insurance provider after the effective date to see how this change may impact their policy.

This accomplishment would not have been possible without: πŸ”₯ Our dedicated firefighters and first responders πŸ”₯ Our Board of Directors πŸ”₯ The North Carolina Office of State Fire Marshal πŸ”₯ Haywood County Fire Marshal πŸ”₯ Our mutual aid departments πŸ”₯ And the incredible support of the Cruso community.

Thank you for believing in and supporting Cruso Fire & Rescue. We remain committed to serving our community with professionalism, dedication, and pride.

Congratulations to every member of Cruso Fire & Rescue on this outstanding achievement!

πŸš’ Community Invitation – Insurance Rating Presentation πŸš’

Cruso Fire & Rescue is excited to invite our community to a special presentation on Monday, July 13, 2026, at 7:00 PM at the fire station.

Representatives from the North Carolina Office of State Fire Marshal will officially present our department's new fire insurance rating. This marks an important milestone for both our department and the Cruso community.

Over the past several years, our members have dedicated countless hours to training, improving equipment, enhancing operations, and meeting the standards required for this evaluation. We are proud of the hard work that has gone into this process.

A lower fire insurance rating has the potential to result in lower homeowners insurance premiums for many property owners in our fire district. While we do not know what our new rating will be, it will be officially revealed during the presentation that evening.

We would love for our community to join us as we celebrate this accomplishment together and share in the excitement of the official announcement.
