🐾 Daily Dose of Athena: Day 27 🐾

You guys helped by liking, sharing, and commenting on Athena’s post yesterday, so let’s do it again today! ❤️

✅ First: Like and share this post!

✅ Second: Comment what dog breed(s) you have at home! 🐶

Athena has been in the shelter system for almost a year, and we have to put an end to that. She deserves a home, a family, and a life outside of a kennel. 🏡💕

Every interaction helps her reach more people and brings her one step closer to finding the forever home she’s been waiting for.

🚨URGENT: WE NEED ADOPTIONS NOW MORE THAN EVER!🚨

Our dog room is nearly full. As of today, we have only ONE open kennel, and Animal Control is bringing in another intake tomorrow. We currently have 29 dogs in our system, and space is running out.

Every kennel occupied means one less space available for a dog in need. While we will continue to do everything we can for the dogs already in our care, we urgently need adopters to step forward and help us create space for the next dog that may have nowhere else to go.

Our dogs come in all ages, sizes, and personalities. Some have been waiting weeks, even months, for someone to give them a chance. They are more than shelter dogs, they are companions, best friends, couch buddies, walking partners, and family members waiting to be discovered.

If you’ve been thinking about adopting, now is the time. If you aren’t able to adopt, please help by:
🐾 Sharing our adoptable dogs/posts
🐾 Telling friends and family about them
🐾 Considering fostering if available

We need our community’s help. These dogs deserve loving homes, and together we can make room for the next animal in need.

Below are our dogs that are available for adoption!✨

🐾 Daily Dose of Athena: Day 26 🐾

Athena is checking in for Day 26 of her search for a forever home. 💔

Every day, she waits patiently for someone to notice her. Someone to choose her. Someone to give her a soft bed, daily walks, and all the love she deserves.

Let’s have some fun today and help Athena get more visibility! 👇

❤️ If you think Athena is beautiful, leave a heart.
🐶 If you have a dog at home, tell us their name in the comments.
🏡 If you can’t adopt, comment “SHARED” so we can thank you for helping spread the word.
⭐ Bonus: Tell Athena what you love most about her based on her photos and posts!

The more comments, likes, and shares this post gets, the more people Athena can reach. Social media algorithms love engagement, and every interaction could help her find the person she’s been waiting for.

Athena is still hoping her forever family is out there. Could you help her find them today? ❤️🐾

🩶 Gavin’s story depicts the power of love and quality care. Gavin came to us as a stray, but had a collar. It was clear he once had a home and owner, however, his body showed that he had been left to fend for himself for quite some time. We posted his picture for reclaim, but no one came. Gavin has been healing with us since the end of April, and he’s more than ready for a loving family to continue to shower him with affection. Gavin is sweet, calm, gentle and enjoys visitors at his kennel. Let’s get Gavin a forever home that he deserves.

🩶 Gavin is estimated to be 2.5 years old, neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, FIV/FeLV negative, on preventatives and litter box trained.

🐾 Roman is still waiting… and we don’t understand why.

We haven’t had a dog adoption in several weeks, and we’re hoping someone will come meet this absolutely wonderful boy.

Roman is a 1.5-year-old mixed breed who weighs about 50 pounds and is the perfect “short king.” He loves to play, does well with other playful dogs, and has so much love to give.

Sadly, Roman was removed from his previous home due to abuse. Despite everything he’s been through, he remains a happy, affectionate dog who is ready to trust again and find a family that will show him the love he deserves.

Right now, Roman spends his days waiting in a shelter kennel, hoping each new visitor might be the one to give him a second chance.

Could that person be you? Apply and meet Roman and see just how special he is. Please share his story to help him find the loving forever home he’s been waiting for. ❤️🐾

In Loving Memory of Luna 🌙🐾

On May 12, 2026, sweet Luna came to us as an owner surrender with very little information about her past. What we did know right away was that she was a gentle senior girl who deserved comfort, kindness, and love.

When Luna arrived, we discovered a very large mass behind one of her legs. It was clear that if Luna was going to have any chance at being comfortable, she needed surgery as soon as possible. Thanks to the support of our community, Luna underwent surgery and the mass was successfully removed.

Sadly, just two days later, Luna passed away in her foster home.

While our hearts are broken that we did not get more time with her, we find comfort in knowing that Luna spent her final days surrounded by love. We are incredibly grateful to her foster family, who opened their home and hearts to a dog they had just met. They made sure Luna knew comfort, kindness, and compassion during her final moments. They stayed by her side, loved her unconditionally, and gave her the dignity every dog deserves.

Luna’s time with us was far too short, but she touched the hearts of everyone who met her. Though we may never know much about her life before coming to the shelter, we are thankful that her last chapter was filled with care and love.

Luna’s story is one that we want the public to know because it is a reality that shelters face. When surrendering a pet, we cannot stress enough how important it is to share any and all information you know about them, especially medical concerns, past diagnoses, medications, changes in behavior, or anything that may help us provide the best possible care. We are not here to judge. Our only goal is to help. The more information we have, the better prepared we are to meet an animal’s needs and advocate for them from the moment they walk through our doors.

Every detail matters. Being honest about a pet’s condition can make a tremendous difference in the care they receive and may even save valuable time when medical intervention is needed.

Run free, sweet Luna. No more pain, no more discomfort, just endless sunshine, soft beds, and peace. You were loved, and you will never be forgotten. 🌈💚🐾

Thank you to Luna’s foster family for giving her the greatest gift of all: love when she needed it most.❤️

🐾 Just look at Bully’s beautiful smile! 🐾

This handsome boy loves everyone he meets and enjoys playing with other dogs. Bully was surrendered through no fault of his own when his owners could no longer care for him. Despite the changes in his life, he remains the sweetest, happiest guy.

Bully would thrive in an active home where he can join you on walks, adventures, and all of life’s fun moments. He’d love a playful canine companion, but he’d also be perfectly happy being your one-and-only best friend and travel buddy.

If you’re looking for a loyal companion with a heart as big as his smile, Bully is waiting to meet you. ❤️

Daily Dose of Athena: Day 25 🩷

Still no interest. No applications. No foster offers. Nothing.

Meanwhile, Athena continues to wait with so much love to give. She greets people with a wagging tail, enjoys every moment of attention, and holds onto hope that someone will finally choose her.

Please keep sharing Athena’s story. The right person is out there—we just need them to see her. 🐾💕
