Sheriff Randy Tucker Randy Tucker became the Sheriff of Madison County in January 2012. He has dedicated his life to protecting Madison County citizens. He may run for re-election.

The Madison County Sheriff's Office was formed in 1828, and the Sheriff is the chief law enforcement officer of the county and elected to a four-year term. The Sheriff is the chief officer of the Chancery and Circuit Courts and maintains the county law library. The Sheriff is in charge of the county courthouse, jail and protection of prisoners.

Please consider the following as an update regarding the abduction that occurred at Nissan yesterday morning (January 27, 2025):

• Defendant’s Name: Joshua Demarshall Andrews
• Charges: Capital Murder
Felon in Possession of a Firearm

• The victim was shot multiple times.
• The victim was located deceased at the 161-mile marker on I-55 in Holmes County.
• We have recovered a gun.
• The defendant will be prosecuted in Madison County and is currently being held at the Madison County Detention Center.

Sheriff Randy Tucker stated, “This is a heinous crime that shocks the conscience of society and Andrews will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.”

Tucker continued, “a special thank you to the Madison County District Attorney’s office, the Carroll County Sheriff's Office, the Mississippi Highway Patrol/Mississippi Bureau of Investigation (Greenwood Division), Nissan, and the investigators and deputies with the Madison County Sheriff's Office.”
