🚨 Multi-Agency Training in Action 🚨

Today, multiple agencies came together at Wakonda State Park for a large-scale search and rescue training focused on teamwork, communication, and real-world response scenarios.

Participating agencies included:
• Canton Fire
• Monticello Fire
• LaGrange Fire
• Western Lewis Fire
• Lewis County R-4 Fire
• Marion County R-2 Fire
• Missouri Park Rangers
• Lewis County Sheriff’s Department
• Lewis County Ambulance District
• Canton Fire Auxiliary

Trainings like this are critical in preparing our responders to work seamlessly together when it matters most. From navigating wooded terrain to coordinating across multiple departments, today’s exercise strengthened skills that help keep our communities safe.

Join us this Saturday from 11:30-2pm for our annual BBQ! We will be serving pulled pork and chicken. The Canton Fire Auxiliary will also host a carnival for kids!

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Monticello Fire Chief Dusty Yates.

Chief Yates has been an integral part of the R-V Fire Protection District for a multitude of years. We send our deepest condolences to the Yates family, our fellow fire family and those who knew Dusty.

ELEVATED FIRE DANGER MONDAY

Please be aware of elevated fire dangers starting Monday.

High winds and high humidity will make fire spread quickly.

Avoid any outside burning.

This means if you burn the possibility of it become dangerously out of control is very high.

Winds, dry fuels and low humidity are the reason for this.

Please refrain from any outside burning, do not toss ci******es while lit, and be cautious of anything that may spark.

Today is National Law Enforcement Day.

We would like to take a moment to thank all those who are in the Law Enforcement!

Thank you for all you do to help protect and serve. We appreciate your sacrifice.

We also want to thank all officers at the Canton, Missouri Police Department, LaGrange Police Department,Lewis County Sheriff's Office, and Missouri State Highway Patrol. Thank you for your continued service and helping our loved ones when there is an emergency.

Make sure to take time to thank your local law enforcement officers today and everyday.
