Teamwork Makes Our Community Safer!

A big THANK YOU to Culver-Stockton College for teaming up with the Canton Fire Department and Lewis County Ambulance District to provide important fire safety and CPR training for the college’s Resident Assistants!

These RAs play an important role in looking out for their fellow students, and giving them the knowledge and skills to respond in an emergency can make a real difference. From knowing what to do when seconds count to understanding how to help keep their residents safe, this training helps build a stronger, more prepared campus community.

We’re proud to work alongside our community partners to share knowledge, build relationships, and prepare for the moments we hope never happen.

When we work together, we’re better prepared. When we’re better prepared, our community is safer.

🚨 Multi-Agency Training in Action 🚨

Today, multiple agencies came together at Wakonda State Park for a large-scale search and rescue training focused on teamwork, communication, and real-world response scenarios.

Participating agencies included:
• Canton Fire
• Monticello Fire
• LaGrange Fire
• Western Lewis Fire
• Lewis County R-4 Fire
• Marion County R-2 Fire
• Missouri Park Rangers
• Lewis County Sheriff’s Department
• Lewis County Ambulance District
• Canton Fire Auxiliary

Trainings like this are critical in preparing our responders to work seamlessly together when it matters most. From navigating wooded terrain to coordinating across multiple departments, today’s exercise strengthened skills that help keep our communities safe.
