As we come to a close on the first night of the 2026 Mississippi 4-H Club Congress, it has been a wonderful day full of opportunities, leadership, and fun. Madison County 4-H’er Marley Faulkner has had an incredible start to Club Congress. She began last night as part of the ambassador team making final preparations for the week. Marley made the ambassador team her very first year trying out, which is an incredible accomplishment, and we are so proud of her.
Today, Marley competed in Visual Presentation, where she had the opportunity to speak about something she is passionate about — weather. She did an incredible job! Throughout the day, delegates attended two general assemblies. During the first assembly, everyone was officially welcomed to the 2026 Mississippi 4-H Club Congress, and the second assembly featured the always-entertaining 4-H Idol competition. Mississippi 4-H is filled with so much amazing talent, and it was wonderful to see so many youth share their gifts.
We also had the opportunity to hear from Miss Mississippi State University, who reminded us all that “an underdog is still a dog,” encouraging 4-H’ers to believe in themselves and never count themselves out. She was a 4-Her herself, winning several national competitions.
This evening, Mississippi 4-H hosted a Career and College Fair, giving 4-H’ers the opportunity to explore future college opportunities and potential career paths.
The night wrapped up with County Olympics at the Sanderson Center, where delegates enjoyed a fun evening of games, teamwork, and fellowship with 4-H’ers from across the state.
Tomorrow will be another exciting and busy day for Marley as she participates in two workshops, fulfills leadership team responsibilities, and takes part in a special tour of the Meteorology Department at Mississippi State University — a place she hopes to attend in the future.
We can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings at Mississippi 4-H Club Congress!
