Last week, I had the opportunity to celebrate the grand opening of Raising Cane’s in Pensacola! It’s always exciting to welcome new businesses to our community, creating jobs, investing in our local economy, and giving families another great place to gather.

A special shoutout goes to the very first customer in line, whose dedication and enthusiasm made the celebration even more memorable! Thank you to the entire Raising Cane’s team for choosing Pensacola, and welcome to our community. I look forward to seeing your success for years to come.

🍩🚔 Donut Strike for Manna is almost here!

I encourage everyone in Escambia County to support this fun and impactful community event benefiting Manna Food Pantries. Local first responders are giving up doughnuts for a few days to help collect food donations and strike out hunger right here at home.

The best part? 100% of donations stay in Escambia County to help local families in need.

Join us June 24–26 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at participating Publix locations, bring a donation, and help make a difference in the lives of your neighbors.

Thank you to the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office, our first responders, Manna Food Pantries, and everyone working to strengthen our community. Together, we can help ensure no family goes hungry.

As we celebrate Father’s Day, I want to recognize all the fathers and father figures who help build strong families and strong communities.

And on a personal note, I want to thank my husband, Phil. Public service often requires long days, late nights, and time away from home. Through it all, he has been my biggest supporter and the foundation of our family. I couldn’t do what I do without him.

Happy Father’s Day, Phil. We love you more than words can express.

I was proud to co-sponsor HB 471, Recruitment and Retention of Speech-Language Pathologists, sponsored by Representative Kevin Chambliss. This legislation aimed to address the growing shortage of speech-language pathologists in our schools by requiring the Florida Department of Education to develop and maintain a statewide strategic plan focused on recruitment, retention, and the delivery of quality services for students.

The bill would have required school districts and charter schools to provide workforce data, analyze staffing needs, examine caseloads, and explore solutions such as mentorship programs, continuing education opportunities, tuition assistance, and other strategies to attract and retain qualified professionals.

For many children, speech and language services are essential to their academic success, communication skills, and overall development. Ensuring that schools have access to qualified speech-language pathologists means helping students overcome barriers, build confidence, and reach their full potential.

Unfortunately, HB 471 did not receive a committee hearing and died in the Careers & Workforce Subcommittee at the conclusion of the 2026 Legislative Session.

Every child deserves access to the support they need to succeed, and I was honored to support legislation that sought to strengthen these critical services for Florida’s students.

🇺🇸 I’m proud to sponsor the 250th Anniversary July 3rd Celebration in Century and Flomaton!

As our nation prepares to celebrate 250 years of freedom and opportunity, I hope families from across the North End will come out and enjoy this special evening of community, patriotism, and fun. The event will feature food trucks, arts and craft vendors, a flyover at 5:00 PM, and fireworks after dark.

This is a great opportunity for neighbors from both Florida and Alabama to come together and celebrate the values that unite us. I look forward to seeing many of you there!

Christmas is coming a little early this year! 🎄☀️

Join us on July 25 for Christmas in July hosted by Pusching Forward as we come together to support local children and families in need. Bring a new, unwrapped toy and help make the 2026 Be the Miracle Christmas Drive a success.

This is a wonderful opportunity to give back, connect with our community, and spread a little Christmas cheer during the summer months. We hope to see you there!

Our nation mourns the loss of eight brave Airmen who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to something greater than themselves.

As a veteran, my heart aches for their families, friends, and fellow service members who are carrying an unimaginable burden today. May we never take for granted the courage of those who put on the uniform and willingly accept the risks that come with defending our nation.

Please join me in keeping these heroes and their loved ones in your prayers.
