National Volunteer Week is April 19 - 25, 2026, Thank You to all the Public Safety Volunteers, VIMS Client Users for your Service!!

National Volunteer Week began in 1974 when President Richard Nixon signed an executive order establishing the week as an annual celebration of volunteering. National Volunteer Week is about thanking one of America's most valuable assets - our volunteers - and calling the public's attention to all that they do to improve our communities while helping your agency provide more and enhanced services!

Regardless of YOUR role in your agency or organization, Civilian Volunteers, VIPS, COP's, Reserve Officers, Auxiliary Officers, Explorers, EMA, Fire Fighters, Chaplains, SAR Teams, Victims Advocates, etc. etc., you all give your most valuable time to help you help your community. On behalf of the VIMS team, thank you again for all your do to help keep our communities safer and better for all. Wishing you another wonderful year of service!!

Thank you to our VIMS and ODISS software client, the Santa Clara County CA Sheriff's Office for their efforts to help secure todays 2026 Super Bowl game between the Seahawks and Patriots. Their efforts combined with all the other area agencies helped make this a safe and enjoyable game for everyone attending to provide an enjoyable and secure experience for all in Santa Clara, CA !

Congratulations to Reserve Deputy Carlos Mejia for your 10,000 hours of Volunteer Service to the San Bernardino County CA Sheriff's Dept and the community they serve!!

Carlos Mejia has dedicated over 10,000 volunteer hours to the Sheriff’s Department, serving in multiple critical roles and supporting high-profile operations throughout his time of service.

His assignments and accomplishments include:

•Colorado Air Rescue

•Dive Team Medic

•SWAT School Tactical Medic Instructor

•Responded to the Dorner incident with SED

•Responded to the IRC incident with SED

•Recipient of the Sheriff’s Award for rescuing a subject trapped under a vehicle
