๐Ÿ”ฅ Burn Ban Reinstated for Comal County
Effective Friday, August 21 at 6:00 AM, the burn ban is back in effect for unincorporated areas of Comal County. Our KBDI (drought index) sits at 553 today and is climbing roughly ten points a day, so conditions are getting drier by the hour.

During the burn ban, the following are NOT allowed:
Brush fires
Campfires
Burn barrels
Fire pits and rings
Any other open flame

The only exception is a BBQ pit that is off the ground and has a lid to contain sparks and flames, and those are for cooking purposes only.

Please help us keep Comal County safe. One spark in these conditions can spread fast.

Good afternoon JBSA!

We are getting bad news ๐Ÿ˜ข It looks like the county is going to put the burn ban on starting at 6am tomorrow morning, August 21st. Right now it is on the Fire Marshalโ€™s website, but we will post the official post once it is posted. We just wanted everyone to plan accordingly for this weekend. We will be calling and emailing customers coming in this weekend ASAP. Please bring a grill with a lid and do not burn in the fire pits. Thank you!

Good morning JBSA! Number 14 in Jacobs creek is also back open ๐Ÿ™‚ Good information about the other ramps open below and WORD has 18 back open. Please stay safe!

Good news for boaters! Comal County crews have completed debris clearing on several County maintained ramps, and they're now open for the season.

Ramps 1, 2, 6, and 7 are open, along with Ramp 18 at Canyon Park and Ramp 3 at Comal Park. Current lake level is 908.96.

๐Ÿ“ฃA few reminders as you head out.
Ramps are for launch and recovery only, so loitering, day camping, and fishing near ramps are not permitted. Parking rules for cars and trailers will be enforced, and everyone is asked to follow the Comal County Boat Ramp Order and the WORD Water Safety Ordinance.

As this is a natural body of water, conditions can change and some level of risk is always present. Swimming is at the individual's discretion, and visitors are encouraged to use good judgment and monitor conditions. (Swimming in the boat ramp area is strictly prohibited)

This effort is being coordinated alongside WORD of Comal County, Joint Base San Antonio, Canyon Lake Marina, and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. These partner agencies will open their respective ramps as they become ready, and the public can follow their social media pages for updates.

Thanks for your patience while our crews got these ramps ready. Full boat ramp info and lake levels are always available here: https://cceo.co.comal.tx.us/arcgispor/apps/experiencebuilder/experience/?id=b85a862dbaa049d6a85b105bba0e49d8
