💙 We need your help! 💙

Autism Awareness of Southeast Missouri is gathering information from families, caregivers, businesses, and service providers so we can better understand the needs in our community.

Families can share what supports, resources, or item-based needs would be most helpful.

Businesses and service providers can share what services or opportunities they may be able to offer, such as swim lessons, equine therapy, sensory-friendly activities, family supports, and more.

This will help us plan future programs, partnerships, and support opportunities for individuals with autism, developmental disabilities, and their families.

Thank you for helping us build a more supportive and connected community.

We are proud to share that Cindy Lange, CCSOMO’s Developmental Disabilities Employment Coordinator, was invited to be part of a statewide pilot project focused on creating pathways to STEM apprenticeships for students with disabilities.

Cindy was asked to participate because of the strong local collaboration happening in our area and her experience supporting transition-age students with developmental disabilities as they prepare for life after high school. Through this project, Cindy and other community partners are helping explore what it could look like to support students from ninth grade through graduation as they prepare for future apprenticeship and employment opportunities.

This is an exciting opportunity for Cape Girardeau to be part of a statewide pilot project, and we are grateful that CCSOMO has a seat at the table as this important work begins!
