The Prince George’s County Fire/EMS Department mourns the loss of DC Fire and EMS Battalion Chief Keith T. Long, who died in the Line of Duty.

Chief Long proudly served our community for 40 years as a volunteer firefighter. Most recently, he was a dedicated member, past President, and Deputy Chief of Oxon Hill VFD Company 21/42. His service also included time with Boulevard Heights VFD, Landover Hills, Silver Hill, Berwyn Heights, and West Lanham Hills Volunteer Fire Departments.

Chief Long was a true public servant whose legacy of leadership, commitment, and service will never be forgotten.

The Boulevard Heights and Oxon Hill families ask that you keep us in your prayers.

We ask the community to keep our station members, as well as Firefighter Lyles’ family and friends, in your thoughts and prayers as we navigate this difficult time.

Further information regarding memorial arrangements will be shared as it becomes available.
