Sasha Bruce Youthwork at Promise Place Promise Place is a new emergency youth shelter in Prince George’s County, Maryland The first homeless youth shelter in Prince George’s County in over a decade, Promise Place provides homeless, abandoned, abused, neglected and runaway youth a compassionate alternative to the dangers of the streets and/or unstable housing.

Mission: Mission Statement: To provide emergency shelter and short-term housing for homeless, abandoned, abused, neglected and runaway youth and young adults in crisis in a safe and nurturing environment where they will receive supportive services to help them achieve their personal goals and their transition into adult life.

Just eight months ago, the Playtime Project and our partners helped bring a playground to the DC General Emergency Family Shelter. Since it's opening in October, there have been 463 visits to the playground; that's 463 smiles, 463 turns on the slide, and 463 children having access to safe, outdoor play right where they live. Thank you to our volunteers, supporters and donors who have made this happen!
