🌊 Join the San Vicente - Waddell Coastal Resilience Community Workshop to help make the North Coast more resilient to climate change!

The San Vicente and Waddell Coastal Resilience project focuses on climate adaptation along Highway 1 and the Santa Cruz Branch Rail Line, near Davenport and Big Basin State Park. These transportation corridors are facing growing risks from sea level rise, severe storms, and coastal flooding. The goal of the project is to protect this critical infrastructure while restoring nearby marsh habitats.

At the workshop, the team will present recent technical findings on shoreline changes and flood risks. Most importantly, you will have the chance to ask questions, share your concerns, and help shape potential design ideas for the future.

Don’t miss this event on Saturday!

We’re excited to welcome Rich Casale with the Resource Conservation District of Santa Cruz County, to our Emergency Preparedness Event on Saturday, June 6 at the Aptos Grange.

Richard “Rich” Casale has spent 52 years assisting property owners with land management needs for the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service here in the Monterey Bay area and helped more than 1000 landowners throughout California since 2017 recover from devastating wildfires and storm events.

Don’t miss Rich’s presentation, “Surviving Winter in Santa Cruz County,” where he will share practical strategies to help residents better prepare for winter storms, flooding, erosion, and post-disaster recovery.

Join us on Saturday, June 6 from 1:00–5:00 PM at the Aptos Grange for this free, family-friendly event featuring expert speakers, preparedness resources, community organizations, and hands-on activities to help you and your family prepare for the unexpected.

When we prepare together, we fare better.
