Jack was one of a kind. Always out to help anyone in need. Jack has helped us with our annual coyote hunt fundraiser the past few years, being our auctioneer for the Calcutta Auction. You never knew who he was going to give a hard time to or who he would "run up" in the auction just to get a little more money. He wasn't only valuable to us when we needed him but, he was valuable to many across the state of Oklahoma. As we mourn the loss of Jack, please take your time to say a prayer for his family in this time of need.

The Capron Fire Dept, in conjunction with the Woods County Task Force, is headed to Beaver Co to assist with a large grass fire. Our Task Force was there yesterday as well and didn't get home until 1am or so. We also had two separate grass fires of our own today. Say a prayer for these guys. Everyone is getting tired and running thin. And as always, pray for rain!

The Capron Fire Department was able to purchase, along with donations from the Capron community and rural areas, a 5000 gallon water Tanker. The semi was given to us by another department but we had to purchase the tanker trailer. With this continuity betterment of the fire department, there may be some downsides to the community. One being, which you all have seen today, the low water pressure when we are filling this tanker. We want to apologize for this inconvenience when it occurs. Being there is only one fire hydrant in Capron that we can fill from, it reduces the water pressure throughout the water system. Just know, the Capron Fire Department is improving every chance we get to better serve Capron and the surrounding area. Thank you all for your patience and cooperation!

It is starting to begin the season of thunderstorms and severe weather! With that being said, the Town of Capron does have a public tornado shelter. You can find it in the image below. It is just northwest of the Farmers Co-op office and just east of the Methodist Church. Incase of a tornado, the tornado warning siren does work in the Town of Capron and will be sounded if need be. Everyone stay safe!

Woods County is working on the tornado siren in Capron. There will be a test of the siren today at noon. I would appreciate helping to get the word out. Thanks!

The Woods County Task Force has been deployed, at the request of Beaver County Fire Officials, to assist in the rapidly growing wildfire in Beaver County. Please keep the guys and everyone effected in your prayers.

Okay folks, as of now, next Tuesday, February 17th, is not looking good for fire conditions. Farmers and ranchers, now is the time to be monitoring the controlled burns that have been done. Start driving by them a few times a day to make sure everything is cold. I recommend not doing any further burns until after Tuesday. And as always, if you see smoke call 911 immediately!
