Trash Collection Schedule Change
Due to the Labor Day holiday, trash collection in Carbondale will take place Wednesday, September 9, one day later than the regular schedule.

Please remember to have your trash ready for collection on Wednesday by 7 am.

Asegura la basura. Protege a los osos.

Los osos son inteligentes y hábiles para encontrar comida, y la basura que no está bien asegurada puede atraerlos a nuestros vecindarios. Ayuda a proteger a los osos y a nuestra comunidad asegurando correctamente tu basura.
Usa un contenedor resistente a osos cuando o guarda un contenedor estándar en una area seguro, no lo llenes demasiado, mantenlo limpio cuando no esté afuera para la recolección.

Conozca el horario para sacar la basura:
Los contenedores estándar solo pueden colocarse en la vía pública entre las 6 a. m. y las 8 p. m. el día de recolección. Los contenedores resistentes a osos pueden colocarse a partir de las 5 p. m. del día anterior a la recolección y deben retirarse antes de las 8 p. m. el día de recolección.

Colocar los contenedores fuera de estos horarios o no asegurarlos correctamente puede resultar en multas conforme a la ordenanza municipal.

Keep It Secure. Keep Bears Out.

Bears are smart and resourceful, and unsecured trash can attract them into our neighborhoods. Help protect bears and our community by properly securing your trash.
Use a bear-resistant container or secure your standard container in an eclosed area, don’t overfill and keep containers clean when they are not out for collection.

Know when to put your trash out:
Standard containers may only be placed in the public right-of-way between 6 a.m. and 8 p.m. on collection day. Bear-resistant containers may be placed out beginning at 5 p.m. the day before collection and must be removed by 8 p.m. on collection day.
Containers placed outside these times or not properly secured may result in fines under Town ordinance.

The Town of Carbondale’s 2026 Community Grant is now open! Small, local nonprofits may apply for up to $7,000, with priority given to organizations that directly benefit Carbondale residents.

Applications are due October 5, 2026, by 5:00 p.m.

The Traffic Calming Test Project needs your feedback. If you’ve walked, biked, or driven through the temporary installations near Sopris Avenue and Snowmass Drive, please take a few minutes to share your experience.

Your feedback, along with project monitoring, will help the Town evaluate what is working, what may need to change, and how these types of improvements could be used in the future.
