2025 has concluded and 2026 has commenced. The preceding year was remarkable for our city, distinguished by numerous positive transformations and growth, despite being accompanied by challenges. I am confident that 2026 will present its unique set of challenges, but we will be adequately prepared to address them. I look forward to welcoming our new city council member to the team. We will be embarking on citywide cleanup initiatives. Our fire department has successfully secured a grant for new equipment, and we will be exploring additional grants to upgrade our city's infrastructure wherever possible. I am extremely proud of the fire department and all the changes they have implemented. I encourage you to visit and show appreciation for their growth and the upgrades they have made, which were accomplished on their own time and at their own expense. They are truly dedicated individuals. Our city hall has undergone significant changes, resulting in a clean, organized, and efficient environment, thanks in part to our two exceptional clerks. Our community buiding got remodeled and it's absolutely beautiful !! Our water department has made great strides, consistently providing perfect water quality month after month, with everything in order and up to date. Lastly, I am proud to work with the best city council, and together, we have made decisions that benefit the city. We have been questioned, and we have questioned ourselves, but when I look at the city and its finances, I am confident that we are on the right track. I would like to extend my gratitude to the citizens for their support, which has been truly refreshing. The Cardwell Community Club has been instrumental in making our city shine, and we appreciate their efforts immensely. I appreciate the opportunity to serve as mayor and enhance our city's quality of life, restore civic pride, and organize community events that foster social cohesion.

It is our honor to recognize our Grand Marshal for tonight's parade, Mrs. Polly Jameson, a vibrant 92-year-old lady. Mrs. Polly occupies a special place in my heart, as she was my mother-in-law's dear friend. We are privileged to pay tribute to you tonight, Mrs. Polly, as our Grand Marshal. Your life has been a shining example of love, compassion, and integrity. As a dedicated member of the Antioch Church of Christ, you have served God with devotion. She is the wife of the late Norman Jameson and mother to Ruth Ann, Michael, and Mary. grandmother to Blake, Zach, Jaiden, and Joseph, and a great-grandmother to Eli, Hudson, and Addie. We are grateful for your leadership and love, Mrs. Polly. We wish you and your family a blessed Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year.
