Property Owners/Landlords, Thinking of Raising Your Contract Rent?

Per Maine Statue Title 14§6015,
(1) Rent may only be increased by the landlords only after providing at last 45 days' written notice to the tenant.
(2) If rent charged is increased by the landlord 10% or more, the landlord must provide at least 75 days' written notice to the tenant. If the landlord increases rent more than once in a 12-month period, and the increases add up to a total increase of 10% or more, the landlord must provide a 75 day's written notice to any increase that brings the total increase in rent to 10% or more.
